The 1898 StoreBuda, Texas
What I like most about shopping at Buda's 1898 Store:
1. It is like a visit to a most unusual museum -
where one can purchase the artifacts on display.
2. Looking through the store is indeed a treasure hunt.
3. Ms. Jeanette Chelf, the owner, has consistently been
both reasonable, honest and pleasant. Not even once
has she ever handed me the short end of the stick.
4. After numerous trips, I finally asked Ms. Chelf
about particular items of interest to me - while
unable to buy specifically for me, more of such
exact items were available on subsequent stops.
5. Cannot tell you how many times other people with
special areas of interest would stop by during
my visits, also finding that there were recently
acquired stocks of their favorite items too.
One may find: fossils, artifacts, antique coins, wood
working hand tools, collectibles, glassware, jewelry,
fishing lures & tackle, fountain pens, books, stamps,
artwork, silverware, beads, historic manuals, signs,
indian arrowheads ...
The 1898 Store is located in downtown Buda, Texas,
on the northernmost corner of the intersection of
N. Main and RR967 (across from the Fire Station).
